Pupil Premium

The school receives additional funding for children who have free school meals. This funding should be used to narrow the gap in achievement between FSM and non FSM children. Schools are obliged to publish details of how the Pupil Premium is spent.

The following explanation of pupil premium funding is an extract from the Department for Education.

This money is allocated to schools by the Department for Education in addition to main school funding. The Government believes that the Pupil Premium is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.”
